Hampton InnDebbie Martinez is an Indiana artist that layers textile, inks, beads, objects and threads
to create realistic images that convey impressions of nature and tells a story.
Her works have been called fiber art or art quilting.
Debbie's textiles show her passion for the all the arts.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and throughout the United States.
In addition to her one-of-a-kind creations, she spends her time teaching,
hosting retreats and doing commission work.
Her specialty is thread painting animals, people and scenes which look more
realistic than the actual photograph she used as inspiration.
The long arm is her favorite machine and she pushes it to its limits and creates new and exciting techniques.
When Debbie teaches her goal is to challenge the students to think outside the box and to push themselves.
Debbie's workshop class will improve your sewing and free motion skills and bring out
your inner fabric artist. Debbie will start you out with a gorgeous floral print from Kaffe Fasset
and over the course of the workshop the flowers will come alive.
Debbie will share her secrets of free motion and show you how to create
your own stitched works of art with thread. Mike went to college at Florida State University and received a B.A in Theatre and a
